Free online video tools for everyday jobs
VidHaul is a collection of free online video tools for the small jobs that come up every day: making a video small enough to send, turning a clip into an MP3, fixing an iPhone video that won’t play on Windows, cutting out the boring part, or turning a funny moment into a GIF. Each tool opens in your browser, does one job well and gives you a clean file to download. There is no account to create, no watermark on the result and no limit on how many files you process.
The difference is where the work happens. Most online editors upload your video to a server, process it there and make you download it again. VidHaul’s tools do the processing on your own device using the video technology built into modern browsers. Your file never leaves your computer or phone, which saves upload time and keeps private videos private.
What you can do with VidHaul
Make videos smaller
The Video Compressor shrinks MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV videos into a compact MP4. Pick a quality level, choose a ready-made target such as WhatsApp (under 16 MB), Discord (under 10 MB) or Email (under 25 MB), or type any size in MB. You can also cap the resolution at 1080p, 720p or 480p.
Convert video and audio formats
- MP4 to MP3 and Video to MP3 pull the sound out of a video and save it as an MP3 at 128, 192 or 320 kbps.
- MOV to MP4 turns iPhone and camera MOV files into MP4 that plays on Windows, Android, smart TVs and video editors.
- WAV to MP3 makes large uncompressed recordings about 5–10× smaller, and M4A to MP3 converts iPhone voice memos and DRM-free music into the most widely supported audio format.
Cut, crop and trim
The Video Cutter keeps only the part of a video you want, usually without re-encoding, so it is fast and the quality stays the same. The Video Cropper reframes a clip to 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9 for vertical stories, square posts or widescreen. For audio, the MP3 Cutter trims songs and recordings and is handy for making a 30-second ringtone.
Make and convert GIFs
Video to GIF and MP4 to GIF turn a few seconds of video into a looping animated GIF, with a choice of width and frame rate. Going the other way, GIF to MP4 converts a heavy GIF into a much smaller MP4 video that more apps and sites accept.
Why use browser-based video tools?
| What matters | How VidHaul handles it |
|---|
| Privacy | Files are processed on your device and never uploaded. |
| Cost | Free, with no sign-up and no daily limit. |
| Watermark | None. Your output contains only your content. |
| Installation | Nothing to install. Works in a normal browser tab. |
| Devices | Windows, Mac and Linux computers, plus Android phones and iPhones. |
Because nothing is uploaded, you don’t wait for a large file to crawl up to a server on a slow connection. Once the page has loaded, the speed depends on your device rather than your internet. A recent laptop handles long videos comfortably; a phone works well for short clips but is slower with big files, and files over roughly 1.5 GB may not finish on a phone because everything happens in memory.
How every tool works
- Choose a file. Tap the button or drag and drop a file onto the page.
- Set the options. Each tool shows only the settings it needs, such as target size, start and end time, or MP3 bitrate.
- Press Start and download. A progress bar shows the work, then a Download button appears with the before and after size. Use “Convert another file” to do the next one.
Downloaded files get clear names, for example “holiday-compressed.mp4” or “song-cut.mp3”, so you can find them easily in your downloads folder.
Tips for getting the best results
- Start from the original file. Every conversion works from what is already there. Compressing an already compressed video or saving a low-quality MP3 at a higher bitrate will not add detail.
- Cut before you compress. If you only need part of a video, trim it first with the Video Cutter. A shorter clip compresses to a smaller file with better quality.
- Keep GIFs short. GIFs grow quickly. Two to six seconds at a modest width usually gives the best balance of size and smoothness.
- Use a computer for very large files. Laptops and desktops have more memory and power than phones, so long 4K recordings finish faster there.
Who are these online video tools for?
Students sending a project video by email, small business owners preparing clips for a website, gamers sharing highlights in a chat, parents saving family videos on a phone that is running out of space, and anyone who just needs one quick fix without learning a full video editor. If you have a single task and want it done in a minute, a focused tool is often quicker than opening a large editing program.
Please only edit and convert files that you own or have the right to use.
Frequently asked questions
Are VidHaul’s video tools really free?
Yes. Every tool is free to use with no sign-up, no daily limit and no watermark added to your files.
Do my files get uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens inside your browser on your own device, so your videos and audio never leave your computer or phone. That makes the tools safe for private and confidential files.
Can I use these tools on my phone?
Yes. The tools work in Chrome or Safari on Android phones and iPhones. Phones are slower than laptops, and very large files (over about 1.5 GB) may be slow or fail on a phone because everything happens in the device’s memory.
Which browsers are supported?
Up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on computers, and Chrome or Safari on phones. Very old browsers can’t run the tools, and the page will tell you if yours is not supported.
Will a watermark be added to my video?
No. VidHaul never adds a watermark, logo or end screen. The file you download contains only your own content.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Everything runs on the web page itself, so there is nothing to download or install. Open the tool, choose a file and press Start.
Which video formats can I open?
MP4, MOV (including iPhone HEVC videos), WebM, MKV and most other videos your browser can read. Audio tools accept MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG and other common formats.
How long does processing take?
It depends on your device and the size of the file. Short clips usually finish quickly, while long or high-resolution videos take longer, especially on phones. A progress bar shows how far along it is.
